The challenge: running multiple restaurants the right way
Brucan Pubs began in 2018 at The Greene Oak in Windsor. With experience as a leader and at the Ivy restaurant in London’s West End, Director James Lyons-Shaw knew he needed a system to keep up with his kitchen, staff, and customers. He was looking for an easy-to-use system for his operations.
But he also needed a system to help him turn his vision for the future into a reality. In particular, running multiple locations, he wanted the freedom to control his business outcomes.

Brucan Pubs have expanded across Berkshire and Surrey, and James has trusted Epos Now to help him run five pubs and an attached farm shop. Not only that, but he’s helping other businesses get started, running a consultancy business where he also recommends Epos Now as their chosen business management system too!
James explains: “As we've grown, we've added more systems to our business and more integrations. The flexibility that Epos Now has gives us options, linking to our reservations system and linking to our procurement software. It means we get full control over our business and it's very easy to manage!”
Now that James has five sites to manage, he needs to be in five places at once. With real-time updates on trade, inventory, reservations, and more, he knows where he needs to be and can make changes for other sites even when he’s not there.

“Time on-site is money spent so we ensure we get their new Epos Now systems completely setup remotely, using Brucan Pub’s systems as a blueprint. That way we get them ready to go so as soon as the equipment gets delivered to the site. We plug it in, we log it in, and it's ready to go. So it's a really good system to support people with and add on to their networks.”
On a plug-in-and-go system, James has found it easy to adapt, and even easier to grow. What’s more, even when he’s run into trouble, he’s had a dedicated account manager and a team of eager agents on hand to help out.
