Epos Now 3.8 Release Notes

Users can now remove access to the Quick-Add feature on the front till for selected staff. All staff, however, can still access the Quick-Add feature via the Back Office (if they have Back Office access).

In summary:

• If the staff role has the Quick-Add Setting permission enabled, the user will be able to use Quick-Add on the front till
• If the staff role doesn’t have the Quick-Add Setting permission enabled, the user will not be able to use Quick-Add on the front till, but they will be able to use it on the New Product List in the back office

This was requested by users as some staff members would add a new product on the front till (instead of manually adding it via the category) despite the product not being found when scanned.

The hardware setup wizards have been redesigned with new layouts and flows to help you set up devices quickly and easily.

Key updates are featured in the order printer setup wizard, which now guides you through configuring all necessary settings for using an order printer, including Back Office category setup and enabling offline order printing.

• Till performance: We have optimized till performance by limiting the maximum number of products displayed at the top level and within each category to 250 (previously 1000). This improvement greatly enhances loading speeds both on the main till screen and when accessing individual categories.
• Bookkeeping report: We've fixed an issue in the Bookkeeping report where the Discount Reason column was blank for transactions with Customer Type Discounts. This column now correctly displays the reason for these discounts, making data review easier in the Back Office.
